Volunteer with LA Assist today

Listen

It may seem odd, or even a waste of time; but taking a little time to lend a listening ear may very well make their day- or even save their life. If you believe that everyone deserves someone to turn to, and that everyone’s story deserves to be heard; If you can listen with empathy, with an open mind and are adept at picking up on social cues, subtle conversational details and nuances that may suggest larger issues at play- join us today.

Connect

LA Assist may, depending on the circumstances refer the client to appropriate welfare resources and/or organizations. This may range from online resources on stress management to determining which government agency/nonprofit is most relevant to the client’s situation. The answers may not be clear cut and you may occasionally have to rely on your own judgement and discretion. If you are a resourceful individual who is comfortable in making and owning decisions under ambiguity- join us today.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
